Lynbrook is a suburb in Melbourne, the capital of the south-eastern state of Victoria, it is 36 km south-east from Melbourne’s CBD.
Lynbrook is located on the South Gippsland Highway, north-west of Cranbourne suburb, and south of the residential suburb of Hampton Park.
The local government area of Lynbrook is the City of Casey and bordered by Dandenong Hastings Road, the South Gippsland Freeway, Merinda Park railway station.
The suburb of Lynbrook was developed by VicUrban(formerly Urban Renewal Authority Victoria). The highlight of the VicUrban development in Lynbrook is the stormwater catchment system which flows right into the lake where it goes through a purification process and then released into Dandenong Creek and into Port Phillip Bay.
A little-known fact, back in 1994, the area now occupied by Lynbrook was part of Lyndhurst suburb.
